Chiropractor

Chiropractor Joakim Helsing has 6 years of education in muscle, skeletal and nerve disorders, with a master’s degree in chiropractic from Anglo-European..

Chiropractic College in England (AECC) 2006-2011, as well as rotation service the following year, and is an authorized chiropractor with sick leave, reimbursement and requisition rights.

Helsing has therapeutic experience from 4 different clinics in the Oslo area, with specialization in e.g. manipulation techniques, trigger point therapy, extremity treatment (arms / legs), clinical neurology, paediatrics, acupuncture, exercise theory and fitting of orthopedic insoles – which includes the most used techniques and methods for chiropractic treatment today. Helsing has a broad sporting background, as a sports therapist for e.g. Skedsmo football club, as a football and bandy player, and as a former cross-country skiing enthusiast.

Helsing is careful, and adapts the treatment to the individual diagnosis and course. The modern chiropractor is a primary healthcare service for muscle, skeletal and nerve disorders, with the duties and requirements it places on a thorough preliminary examination and a sound treatment plan. Where required, the patient will be referred for a complementary examination with MRI and/or X-ray, or referred to a medical specialist for specialized examinations or extended treatment. The chiropractor treatment Helsing performs is specific, based on findings from the examination, and targeted at pain relief and restoration of lost mobility.

Helsing is concerned with mobility and function, and monitoring of range of motion is a fundamental part of the examination, along with other orthopedic and neurological tests. The path to pain relief is often via the normalization of range of motion and by recovering negative functional changes in joints, as well as normalizing tension and spasm in muscles. Impaired mobility can i.a. reveal the origin of the pain, and tell about the conditions that can cause pain and reduced mobility, e.g. reduced joint function, muscle spasm, inflammation, wear and tear etc. The treatment targets both joints and muscles, as well as areas for nerve passage.
